Sasana Dasa Program

“Sasana Dasa” is a noble offering of physical service dedicated to sustaining the Buddha’s dispensation over time and bringing well-being and happiness to all living beings.

Under the protection and guidance of the resident Maha Sangha of the monastery, this programme provides you with a precious opportunity to perform meritorious acts by offering your effort, energy, and labour, serving the fourfold community who strive to realise Nibbāna in the Buddha Sasana.

This programme, offers you the blessed opportunity to take part in numerous meritorious deeds, such as:

  • Building and maintaining reservoirs, canals, and roads

  • Constructing and supporting monastic residences, Dhamma halls, and alms halls

  • Cultivating agricultural lands such as paddy fields, chena lands, vegetable gardens, and fruit plantations

These efforts help fulfil food and material needs, allowing offerings of the four requisites to the Noble Fourfold Assembly.

At the sacred grounds of Jetavanarama, as well as in associated monastic agricultural lands in locations including Dambulla and Mahawa, this programme also includes a structured initiative to produce clean, chemical-free vegetables, fruits, and natural foods— an offering of wholesome sustenance to the fourfold community.

We warmly invite all those devoted to merit to join this noble journey—enriching the Sasana, cultivating virtues, and bringing benefit and happiness to all beings.
